CASE FILE: 004
The Egyptian Mausoleum — Norfolk, Virginia
Status: Supplemental Archive
Classification: Symbolic anomaly / funerary intent
The structure does not match its surroundings.
Angels and headstones give way to carved stone guardians. Egyptian in form. Deliberate. Symmetrical. Intended to stand watch.
The individuals interred there were wealthy. Their choice of funerary language suggests belief in continuity—not resurrection, but passage.
Caretakers described mornings when the doors were found open. No signs of disturbance. No damage. No indication of entry.
One caretaker mentioned footprints leading away from the structure. None leading toward it.
I was not able to verify this claim.
I was also unable to determine why the symbolism was chosen.
People rarely prepare for death casually.
The structure remains sealed.
